Our Foundation & Purpose
The Pakistan Britain Maritime Association (PBMA) was established in 2024 in London under the patronage of the the High Commission of Pakistan, London.
PBMA was formally founded by Commodore M. Zeeshan Nabi SI(M) and Captain Khurram Sheharyar, in collaboration with UK-based maritime professionals, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Muhammad Faisal, High Commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom.
PBMA is guided by its leadership, including the General Secretary, Trustee Commander (R) Shahid Akhter, PN, and senior shipping professionals, with the objective of fostering strong maritime cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom..
Strategic Role
The Association aims to strengthen bilateral maritime ties, promote trade, innovation, and investment, and contribute to the growth of Pakistan’s Blue Economy and Maritime Sector. PBMA serves as a strategic platform connecting industry leaders, policymakers, and maritime professionals to support sustainable maritime development.
